OUR STORY

The idea of a complete bean-to-cup coffee and hot beverage experience delivered through a fully automated barista quality machine together with the necessary servicing paired with top quality consumables produced to meet global standards was born in May 2019 in a small German town called Hofgeismar. In October 2021, this idea was completed with the birth of the Bahn Café brand that tells the story of its journey. The coming together of a German and a South African and the multitude of partnerships created as a result of this coming together, is perfectly captured in the Bahn Café logo.
The story told by the Bahn Café logo goes something like this ……

Lions of Lüdinghausen – Lions representing the South African Leo and Lüdinghausen being the birth birthplace of the German Pisces
Central Station Coffee Company – The Central Station, in this name, with the South African flag and German emblem represents the one eternal Source and Truth that brought them both together

Fifteen Stars – The stars represent the European Union being the origin of the fully automated machines

The on switch, being the symbol for an on/off switch, within the “a” of Bahn – This represents the automated barista

Bahn Café – The inspiration for the name came whilst having a takeaway Café Latte and Chocolate Croissant on the steps outside waiting to board a train at the Berlin Central Station destined for a small village called Möckmühl, in the south of Germany. For those non-German speakers like me, Bahn in German means train. The Bahn name and the train tracks in and around the name represents the cycle of life and the journey to the one eternal Source and Truth.
